誕生日は母のもの、か

　亡き母より誕生日プレゼントが届いた。
家の中を整理してたら出てきたと、弟が届けてくれた。
それは高校を出て旅立ち、岩手山から初めておふくろにプレゼントした財布の箱や手紙等と小５の時に凝っていた刺繍をした枕カバーや小物入れだった。
商売に追われ友達もできない母に、もっと外に出ろ、親父は老け込んでないか、などと、えらそうに照れ隠しをしているのが読み取れる。
刺繍も素晴らしく、嬉しかったんだろうなぁー、玉手箱のようにとってあった。
親父との関係が悪く、俺までも父の見方をして母を攻撃していた頃である。
母も辛かったのだろう。
晩年母が病床で倒れた後は父が誠意を持って看護し、昨年の今頃は５、６年ぶりに頭の血管が通じ、常人に復帰した母を家に向かえ、様々な仕事を任せたりできた。
それもいきなり倒れるまでの最後のともし火であったけれど。
　今朝、同級生の種屋の母ちゃんをのせ越谷までさつま芋の苗をとりにいった。
母が忙しくてできなかった俺の給食袋を作ってくれた人でもある。
母のかわりに大事にしなくてはとの思いがある。
６時に待ち合わせて、一時間半のドライブ中、話は途切れなかった。
その芋苗等をそろえて、体験農園「野良」の講習会、講師をお願いしてある母の同級生のみっちゃんが出迎えてくれた。
明日４８の誕生日。

命の湧き出る田んぼ

　一週間前に最後の田植えを終え、片付けやら、イッシーに任せきりだった畑仕事への復活作業などに追われて、あっという間に日が過ぎた。
今日も草刈や補植の田んぼグループが３つあり、休日は消え続けて数ヶ月。
今年の目標は「俺ちんの休み」だつたはずなのに、半年近くして、変わってねぇーじゃん。
天候も悪く、中止すれすれのラインの朝、田んぼに向かう軽トラで気分は重かった。
仕事のし易い水の高さに調整し、（これが大変、１㎝の上げ下げに１０ｔの水を出し入れする）やデッキブラシや草刈機などの除草アイテム、パラソルに苗やスコップなどを用意し、作業のアドバイスと駈けずり回っているうちに気持ちが吹っ切れてきた。
雨もとぎれ暖かさも感じられ、ほっとする。
ミジンコの話をする。
うちの田んぼには沸くようにうじゃうじゃと動き回っているが、みんな気にも留めず、ミジンコだと知ってびっくり、となりの田んぼにはほとんどいない、この違いを知って更にびっくり、これをオタマジャクシらが食べ、オタマを鳥や亀やヘビが食べる。
命の湧き出る田んぼを判りやすく説明できた。更にカエルの声がうちの田んぼからしか聞こえない。
これには俺もびっくり。
いい仕事ができたなと満足して帰ったら、もう放心状態、何もできない、久々の昼寝、疲れがピークだな。
笑顔を忘れてるもの。

用水に開けた希望の穴

　「できれば長屋みたいにしたいの」と夢を話すＭ子さんは３人娘で山梨の田舎に母はいるが、もう田畑仕事はできない。
何とかみんなで田畑を生かしたい、できれば住みたいが、との相談に来た。
このような形が一番いいと常々思っていた。
営農や地元との関係や家族のあり方、何でもアドバイスできる。
田舎に住民税を送ることが検討されているが、まずは直接関わることが大切だ。
田植え前にせりを除去する作業を楽しそうに手伝いながら「まだだんなには言ってないの、構想が煮詰まってから」と笑顔の彼女は手土産のビールを田んぼに落とした。
　昨日、全てのたうえが終わり、トラクターや田植え機、軽トラなどをポンプで水路の水を拭きかけ洗い尽くした。
泥だらけなんてもんじゃない。
どの機械も頑張ってくれて、格納時には自然と手を合わせ、深々と頭が下げる。
後は体の手入れだな。
週に一度位しか用水の水が来ない地区に、水が漏れやすい高い位置の田んぼがある。
昨年開墾したが草だらけで苦労した。
代かきも田植えも水の関係で遅くなっていたところ、部落の人が「用水のコンクリに穴を開けちまいなよ。」とアドバイスしてくれた。
考えてはいたが、なんか言われそうで躊躇していたので、そのお墨付きはまさに天の声であり、少しは部落に受け入れられたことが嬉しいのだ。
心配が一つ解消。

ちば生物多様性県民会議がこの春結成され、仲間の大原の手塚さんが議長になり、農業のグループ会を百姓になった玉木哲ちゃんが立ち上げようと頑張っています。
千葉県の自然環境をどのように豊かなものにするのか、昨年２０回に及ぶタウンミーティングが開かれ、市民環境活動家や農林漁業家や関係諸団体、各産業や県庁職員など多くの立場の人たちが参加しています。
つきましては多くの有機農業者を募り、国会で決定された有機農業推進法を県内でどのように展開していけばいいのかのプログラムを話しあいたいと考えました。
６月下旬に大会を開く予定です。リストを大急ぎで集めています。よろしくお願いします。
　　
田植えが終わって疲れ果てていますが、、、頑張らねば。

２時間でも旅

　合唱なんてもんじゃない、カエル合戦のその日、うるさくて、電話も聞こえないほどだ。
初めて田植えに来た若い母ちゃんは「工事でもしてるのかな」と思ったそうだ。
昨年は史上最低の厳冬ですくなかったもの、それを生き延びたやつらだ、元気がいい。
５０人もの人間がいても、田植え作業は心配ない、と彼らは知っている。
目の前で鳴き、大乱交パーティーに血走っている。
これを見るのは年に１日しかない。
このような日に田植えができる葛飾の田んぼクラブは１０年目のご褒美か、幼子たちが泥だらけで走り回っている。これでいいよね。
　ＪＲ東海が親会社の経済誌「ウエッジ」は新幹線のグリーン車の各席にあり、系列のキヨスクで現在発売されている。
トップランナーというコーナーにオラの記事があり、友人が「電車の中つり広告に名前が出ていたよ」との報告。
これは凄い、数日後、マサと２人で探しに出かけた。
東部線、常磐快速はなし、千代田線に発見、２本に１本は各車両にあった。
となりは「週間実話」、裏は「スパ」、終着駅の取手乗客が降りた時に一枚失敬してきた。
マサがそばで広げてくれたバックに素早く収納し作戦終了、意気揚々とオオタカの駅で「ウエッジ」を買占め、駅ビルにできたという自然食の店を見学に行ったら、懐かしいオリーブが店長でいた。
旅みたい。
